Scrapper's Delights Anime New Releases for January

It's time for some new Anime images at Scrapper's Delights. Following on from the Chibi release at the start of the month I had the Anime best friends image to play with.

Materials used:
acrylic greeting stamp from stash
black archival ink pad
X-Press It card
blue card
silver mirri card
5" x 7" card blank
oval die
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04     R20
hair - E53, E43, E57     E42, E43, E47, E49
eyes - B24, B28     E25, E27
pink shirt - R81, R83, R85, R89     C0, C1, C3  blender
green shirt - G12, G14, YG06, G05
jeans - B91, B93, B95, B97, B99
bench - E31, E33, E35, E39

The eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted that the top of the card is not exactly straight. This is a 'wart's and all' version! While trimming the top edge my knife slipped and that was the end result. To be honest I could not face taking it all apart and starting again. Sometimes these things happen in life so I decided to leave it as it as and encouragement: everyone has a 'boo-boo' day now and then!

For more inspiration please visit the Scrapper's Delights Blog and do take a look at the Scrapper's Delight's store here and see the other new releases on offer as well as all the other wonderful images. I am sure you will find at least one and probably many more images that you like the look of. You will need to be quick though if you want to take advantage of the January sale with 40% off your total order.

If you would like to join the Design Team at Scrapper's Delights we have a call out running for new team members. You can find the details on the Facebook Page here.

I used a score board to turn the card blank into a twisted easel card and used the die set to cut a frame for the coloured image. The piece of brown card cut from the middle of the frame went inside the card as a background for the sentiment stopper.

I tried to position the sentiment stopper element so that it was under the first part of the sentiment on the card front.

Do please take a look at the Scrapper's Delights Store to see other images and the Inspiration Blog to see what the rest of the team have created with this lovely image. Don't forget the two challenges as well, the Facebook Progressive Challenge and the Challenge Blog.

Scrapper's Delights First Progressive Challenge for 2020

Happy New Year to you all. I am hoping that this year takes a bit longer to work through! Last year hurtled past too quickly for my liking.
The first progressive challenge of the year at Scrapper's Delights has a delightful Chibi image and one useful for male cards.

Materials used:
Scrapper's Delights - Chibi Make Mine A
A Bit More Time To Craft Papers - Coffee Delight
acrylic greetings stamp
black archival ink pad
X-Press It card
7" x 5" card blank
gold mirri card
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04  R20
hair - YR14, YR18, E08, E18
eyes - E13, E15, E18
shirt - YG21, YG03, YG17, YG67

The background papers are printed on printer card and cut to size.

The challenge runs for a month and it would be great to see you enter. You can get information on how to get the image from the Scrapper's Delights Facebook page here, if you entered the December challenge you will be sent the new image automatically.

Scrapper's Delights Chibi New Release

It's time for some more new images at Scrapper's Delights. This month's set has a Winter/Christmas theme going on. Here is the card I made to showcase the skating boy.

Materials used:
Scrapper's Delights - Chibi Ice-Skater Boy
winter trees acrylic stamps
black archival ink pad
Little B die set - Handwritten
rectangle faux stitched die
silver mirri card
X-Press It card
5" x 7" card blank
Distress Oxides - fosslized amber, warn lipstick, broken china, wilted violet
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
hair - E54, E47, E59
eyes - W1, W3, W5
jeans - B91, B93, B95, B97, B99
shirt - G02, G17, G29, G99     R29, R39, R59, R89
skates - C1, C3, C5, C7

The image has been printed out on X-Press It card with the background paper in place. I used the Distress Oxide inks to ink up the card blank so that it would mimic the mat printed using a paper from the Watercolour Batik set by We Are 3. I thought this paper looked like a frozen pond with a dramatic sunset. I used the curves of the paper to position my trees on and stamped them with black archival ink. At this point I wish I was an artist because in my mind's eye I see a fence which I could have drawn in and maybe some birds flying in to roost in the trees!

The sentiment is die cut from silver mirri card. The stamped up and coloured in image is cut out using a rectangle die.

Do go over to the Scrapper's Delights Store and take a look at the other images in the new release. You can also find lots of wonderful inspiration on the Scrapper's Delights Blog.

If you are a fan of Scrapper's Delights images then don't miss the Pre Cyber Monday Sale!

Scrapper's Delights Progressive Challenge for November

Time for a new progressive challenge on the Scrapper's Delights Facebook page. If you entered last month you should be getting the image sent to you for this month. If you need the image then you can request it via the Facebook page.

Materials used:
Scrapper's Delights - Chibi Skater
X-Press It card
printer card
black card
silver texture paint
dotty stencil
snowflake stickers
circle dies
blue/silver designer card
5" x 7" card blank
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04  R20
eyes - E11, E33, E35
hair - E43, E44, E47, E49
trousers - B91, B93, B95, B97, B99
jumper - YG11, G12, G14, YG06, G05
scarf - R81, R83, R85
boots - C0, C1, C3, C9  Blender
blades - C5

The black and silver background card is made using silver texture paint. I have had it in my stash for some time but never really got around to doing much with it. My idea was that it might just work to give a hint of snow! Perhaps white paste might have been a better option but you have to go with what you have got.

The background for the skater is from a royalty free picture from the internet. If we had some hard winters I would have used a photo of my own but alas it is some time since it has been cold enough for fully frozen skateable ponds in our part of the world. My pond has frozen a few times but at only 4 feet it would be hard going standing on it yet alone skating!!

The progressive challenge runs for a month so there is plenty of time to get an entry in. You can also enter the Scrapper's Delight's Challenge at the same time on the blog here. Look out for all the amazing bundles and deals coming up for November too.

Thanks for dropping in.

October's Progressive Challenge at Scrapper's Delights

Time for a new challenge at the Scrapper's Delights Facebook page. This month the image has us reaching for the winter woollies as Autumn is here and Winter approaches.

Materials used:
Scrapper's Delights - Drink on the Run (available on request from the Facebook Page)
Presscut Centre Stepper Card die set
A Bit More Time To Craft - Leaves
printer paper
white card
X-Press It card
black card
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04     R20
hair - Y21, YR23, E15, E18
eyes - B12, B24, B28
dress - V05, RV66, RV69, V09, V99
scarf - Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y19     G02, G05, G07, G29     C0, C1, C3
gloves - C0, C1, C3, C5
trousers - YG03, YG17, YG67, G29
phone - R29, R39, R59, R89     C0, C01
handbag - E84, E87, E89     W3, W5, W7
boots - W1, W3, W5, W7, W9     C0 C1,C5

The sentiment came with the image and you also get two backgrounds, one with snowflakes and one with leaves, that you can colour or leave plain.

To make the background paper I used a sheet from the Leaves set from A Bit More Time To Craft. The original has quite large leaves so I used resizing, copying and pasting multiple times to get the leaves to the size I wanted. It took a bit of time but I think it worked really well for the small size needed.

The card blank and the scalloped mats were cut using the die set. The black pieces were cut by hand.

The challenge goes on for a month and the image is free on request from the Facebook page. I hope you will join us.

Thank you for dropping in. Take care.

Chibi New Release Day at Scrapper's Delights

It's time for a new release at Scrapper's Delights. I got to work with the Gamer Girl image.

Materials used:
game console free clip art
X-Press It card
printer card
7" x 5" card blank
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04  R20
hair - C5, C7, C9, 100
clothes - Y17, Y38, YR68     B21, B23, B26, B18
games console - R29, G17, B18     C0, C1, C3, C5, C7
ear-rings - Y11, Y15, YR23, Y28

The sentiment has been added to the console image before printing. I cannot claim authorship of it as I came across it on line but was unable to find the source so I hope it is another from Anon!

The two background papers are from the Scrapbook Gems set. The one acting as the mat for the girl image has been altered to a grey colour using Serif's CraftArtist software.

Do have a look at the new releases in the store at Scrapper's Delights and also take a look at the blog where you can find more inspiration from the DT. Don't forget we also have a monthly challenge blog and a Progressive Challenge on our Facebook page.

Progressive Challenge at Scrapper's Delights

X-Press It card
brown card
designer paper
buttons
shell
7" x 5" card blank
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04    R20
hair - E42, E43, E47, E89
dress - G02, G17, G29, G99

pumpkin - Y35, Y38, YR14, YR18, E39, E18    E11, E33, E39, E18
sky - B0000

I am not a fan of halloween so asked permission to alter the image to make it more of a general one. To change the pumpkin I traced the pumpkin without the carving, transferred it to a scrap of X-Press It card and then having coloured it I fussy cut it and attached it on top of the original image. I also took out her fangs!

I did say that there was and extra surprise for all who took part in the challenge this month and this is it:
Image may contain: 1 person

The challenge details and how to apply for the image are on the Scrapper's Delights Facebook Page. I hope that you will be able to join in the fun even if you, like me, don't do halloween.

Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

Chibi new release at Scrapper's Delights

It's new release time at Scrapper's Delights and this month I chose to work with one of the two available baseball images. Being in the UK baseball is not a game I am familiar with but we do have rounders which, as far as I can see, is quite similar.

This card ended up being a card for my husband on our wedding anniversary, it was a bit short notice as so much 'stuff' has been happening in our lives and I did not get organised. However I was determined not to buy a card so this one stepped up to the plate. (I think I got a baseball reference in there!)

Materials used:
X-Press It card
printer card
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
hair - E42, E43, E47, E49
eyes - C5, C7, C9
bat - E31, E33, E35, E39   B24, B28, B39
t-shirt - Y13, Y15, Y17, W13, E18
hat and shoes - R29, R39, R59, R89     C0, C1, C3, C5

The sentiment is printed out on white card and cut to size to make an A5 card blank. The coloured image has been fussy cut then stuck on the front with foam pads to add a bit of dimension.

Do hop over to the Scrapper's Delights store and take a look at the new images and while you are there why not take a peek at the Inspiration Blog and see what my team mates have done with the other images being released today.

Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

Another month, another challenge at Scrapper's Delights. This month there is a choice of two images for you, a fence or a wall. As I have used the fence before I opted to use the wall this time around.

The background paper on the card is taken from the Polka Doodles Rose Budd CD and printed on white card.

The background paper for the ATC is a scrap I had in my stash, I can't remember where it came from.

New Release at Scrapper's Delights

There is a new release happening today at Scrapper's Delights. From today you will find a collection of delightful Chibi  images Sweet and Sassy Girls each with their own sentiments. Having trained originally as a librarian and worked most of my working life in schools I could not resist the 'I have a secret' image. I designed my card to be suitable to give to someone about to train as a teacher although it could also be used as an end of term 'thank you' card for a student teacher who has finished teaching practice.

I also made an ATC card with my colour practice image.

Materials used:
Back to School Digi paper (free)
notebook paper
7" x 5" white card blank
rectangle and square dies
X-Press It card
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04   R20
hair - E21, E25, E29
eyes - YG03, G14, G17, G29
T- shirt - YG03, YG17, YG67, G29
jeans - B91, B93, B95, B97, B99
boots - W3, W5, W7, W9   R89

Having been retired for two years now I have to admit that I do miss some aspects of work. I loved science lessons with the KS1 children, all that exploration and discovery to make while the wonder of it all was still fresh for them. Hunting mini-beasts, shooting balloons attached to bottles hanging on strings across the room, indoor fireworks that nearly set off the smoke alarms, making ice-cream without a freezer all good memories.

Do pop over to the Scrapper's Delights Store and take a look at the new images. Also you can find more inspiration from my fellow team members on the Scrapper's Delight Facebook Page and on the Blog.

Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

Winning Birthday

After a weekend of Wimbledon finals, the Cricket World Cup final and a Grand Prix it seemed appropriate to actually get around to blogging this little chap!

Materials used:
Scrapper's Delights - Chibi Winner Girl and Boy

various rectangle dies
acrylic greeting stamp
black archival inkpad
printer card
X-Press It card
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04  R20
eyes - B21, B23, B26

ball - YG21, YG03, YG25, YG17   RV52, RV55, V05
grass - YG25, G24, G28

I use the Tasste of Summer set for the green matt and the balls in the background. The green matt is from the glitter papers and the ball is from the elements. or the balls I cropped and copied the image a few times and arranged them randomly on the paper then recoloured some before printing out. The pink and yellow balls overlapping the image have been cut from the scrap left and glued on.

The printed background paper is cut with a stitched edged die and the stitch effect highlighted with a black pen. The coloured image and matt are cut with rectangle dies.

Thanks for popping in. Take care.

June Progressive Freebie at Scrapper's Delights

I am thrilled to say that I have been asked to join the DT for Scrapper's Delights so this is my first DT post for them. Those of you who have been with me for some time will already know that I love the progressive challenge on the Scrapper's Delights Facebook page so this is not such a hard assignment for me to do. This month we get to work with a cute girl enjoying her pizza.

Materials used:
Scrapper's Delights - Chibi I Love Pizza
Scrapper's Delights - Recipe Card (not in new store)
X-Press It card
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
eyes - B12, B24, B28
hair - E53, E43, E57,
shoes - C3, C5, C7, C9
tee shirt and ribbbon - R81, R83, R85, R56
jeans - B91, B93, B95, B99
pizza box - E31, E33, E35
star and cup - Y15, Y38, B4, B16, B6
pizza base - E51, E53, E33
pizza topping - Y13, Y15, Y19  R35, R46, R59
frame - C0, C1, C3  B000
finished card edge - BG75

I teamed up the image with an older digi stamp from Scrapper's Delights from a Recipe Card set to make a recipe card for Pizza. By resizing the image I got her to fit in the frame on the front of the card and added the text Pizza before printing. The back and front print out together so it was just a case of cutting them out and sticking them together once all the colouring was completed, then finally running a dark blue/green pen around the edge to hide any white left on the edges.

Reverse side of recipe card.

I had this bright idea that probably won't come to fruition for some time, of making a recipe card box as a present for a keen cook so they can store their favourites in it. This is the only card I have done so far and may remain that way.

Oh and in case you were wondering I realise that in the original image she is probably tucking into a pepperoni pizza I fancied a cheese with tomato one!

You can find the Progressive Challenge over at the  Scrapper's Delights Facebook page so why not  pop over and give it a go yourself.

Thanks for dropping in.
