Greetings Earthlings! (Sorry couldn't resist!)
This month ITdbK Creative Playground challenge theme is a sketch. I decided to use a space set for this one.
Materials used:
Imagine That! digis by Kris - To the Moon and Back
pictures from the Hubble space telescope to make background papers
X-Press It card
Copic pens
printer card
black, blue and gold mirri card
white A5 card blank
scalloped rectangle die
The spaceship and alien have been coloured with Copics and fussy cut.
The background paper and the mat for the spaceship are made from photographs taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. I have cut a slot in the scalloped mat to try to make the spaceship look as it it is going through the midle of the rings.
The words are a quote that any Toy Story fan would recognise!
Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

Daffodil Beauty
Today I would like to share with you the card I made for the Art By Mi Ran challenge on the Facebook Page.
Materials used:
Art By Mi Ran - Reserve Listing for the challenge
Imagine That! digis by Kris - Daffodil (coloured image)
X-Press It card
Copic pens
printer paper
Crafts Too stepper card die set
dark green card
gold ribbon roses from stash
gold greetings sticker
The daffodil borders I made using the Imagine That! digis by Kris coloured daffodil image, sizing and spaceing them to fit the dies.
I decided to go for the purple and yellow colour combination because I like it! However I have to admit yellow is not the easiest colour to blend especially as I do not have a wide range of yellow pens.
Thanks for droppping by. Take care.

Roses are Red
Over at Imagine That! digis by Kris there are two great challenges to join in with. There is the Creative Playground, which this month is a sketch and there is also one on the Facebook Page which must feature at least one flower and use an Imagine That! digis by Kris image.
Materials used:
Imagine That! digis by Kris - Rose Blessings
X-Press It card
Copic pens
acrylic greeting stamp from stash
Memento Tuxedo black ink pad
x-cut doily die
wax paper
alcohol inks in red and green
The rose is made up from 3 images to give it some dimension, all the images were coloured with Copics before being fussy cut.
The doily mat is made from the wax paper I used to stop card sticking in the die from a previous project and I found it in my stash so decided to use it! The colour is added using alcohol inks and dabbing them on with a felt pad.
The mat and image are attached to an A5 card blank and the greeting stamped at the bottom.
There is still plenty of time to put in an entry to both Imagine That! digis by Kris challenges so why not join in yourself.
Thank you for visiting. Take care.

Head to Head at Dragons Lair
You may be wondering what a Head to Head Challenge is, I know I did for a while! For this challenge the DT also get to have a go and everyone uses the same kit; the DT and the fans go head to head! This month the Head to Head challenge at Dragons Lair was to use the Florence Mini Kit which lends itself to vintage. Of course as I am a stamper I could not resist the change to combine it with stamping.
Materials used:
Dragons Lair Designs - Florence Mini Kit
Clear Impressions - Timeless Opulence set (free with Creative Stamping Magazine #15)
Memento Tuxedo black inkpad
printer paper and card
stamping card
Copic pens
A5 card blank
From the Florence kit I have used the frame and a couple of the papers for the matting and layering. The picture in the frame is the genleman from the Timeless Opulence set stamped in black and coloured with Copics. The sentiment at the bottom also came from the Timeless Opulence set.
Why not head on over to Dragons Lair Designs and see all the competitions and events that are happening this month. There is still time to join in with us. Here are some links to help you find everything:
We'd love to have you join us in our Fan Group and post up some pictures of any creations you make using any DLD items.

Path of Positivity Mid-Way Post for Empathy
We are half way through the Path of Positivity challenge for this month and the theme is Empathy. I have a good friend, Melanie, and although we do not see each other very frequently our friendship is one of those that just keeps going through time apart. Over the years we have both been through ups and downs, both personally and with family, we have laughed, cried and prayed with each other. We share a friendship that goes beyond simply showing sympathy for each other, I know that Melanie is able to emathise with me and I like to think that I do the same for her.
If you follow my blog this is the same Melanie who introduced me to stamping years ago. I made today's card with her friendship in mind.
Materials used:
Sparkle and Sprinkle - Old Friends
X-Press It card
pink, purple, orange and yellow card
Copic pens
self-adhesive gems
flower punch
white card to make up the card base
The card base is a side folding A5 size. The front has had about 1/3rd cut off and boyth front and back lined with pink card.
The image is coloured with copics and edged in black then it and the sentiment are matted on purple card and attached to the card base.
The flowers are punched from scraps of card and a gem added in the middle.
I am not sure which of the two is me and which is Mel! This card will shortly be heading her way so I hope she likes it!
There is still plenty of time to enter the challenge. Remember you do not have to write an essay on Empathy just make a comment as to how your entry fits the theme if it is not obvious. If you are hesitating because you do not know what to do go to the Path of Positivity Blog and you will find lots of inspiration there. It would be lovely to have you join us.
Thanks for swinging by. Take care.

New Toy!
Last Friday my printer died at a very inconvenient moment (don't they always!). I had been saving for a new one but was not expecting to have to get it quite so soon. After researching and checking out reveiws I finally settled on an A3 duplex one. My thinking was that I might get back into scrapbooking using the wonderful digi kits that are out there, not least Dragons Lair Designs. Now the wise amongst you will realise that A3 is not quite 12 inches but a true 12 x 12 printer is a little out of my league and after trimming down there is only a few mm difference.
So having got my new toy home I had to check it out and this is what I came up with, just in time for the Dragons Lair Monthly Challenge on the Facebook Page.
Materials used:
Dragons Lair Designs - Floral Glory (free download from Facebook Page)
Aurora Wings - Wisteria Sprite
X-Press It card
purple 12x12 card
A3 printer card
Copic pens
The page is made up with various elements from the Floral Glory kit and then the photographs just dropped in. I used Serif Craft Artist to construct the design. I am not really at home with digital scrapbooking and as a stamper like to play with ink and pens and things which is why the little sprite had to appear!
The photographs are of the beautiful ancient wistera at Barrington Court which is owned by the National Trust is is not far from us. We like to go and wander around on days off and each season has some new delights to reveal. We have yet to visit this year to check on the wisteria but judgeing from all the ones around us it is going to be even more glorious than last year.
Thank you for dropping in. Don't forget the blog hop at Dragons Lair is still going until the 19th so you have time to hop around and pick up all the freebies on offer at each stop. While you are at it why not visit the Dragons Lair Designs shop and see all the other goodies they have.
Take care.

A pig in clover?
Ok so maybe not clover, but he has plenty of other flowers to enjoy! The image I have used today is the Stamp of the Month from From the Heart Stamps. It is on offer for the progressive challenge.
Materials used:
From the Heart Stamps - Hamlet Pigwig in the Planter
Docrafts Papermania papers - Country Life
X-Press It card
5inch square white card blank
Copic pens
little flowers from stash
adhesive gems
This is quite a simple card to do once the colouring is finished! It is just a straight forward matting and layering job.
The little accent flowers have a creamy pearl finish but I wanted to try and match them with the blue flowers surrounding Hamlet Pigwig so I used a Copic pen. The colour has not quite matched because of the surface of the flowers but it is near enough. The centers have adhesive gems in the middle.
Just time for a 'Head's Up' for tomorrow, look out for my post at the start of the Dragon's Lair Designs Blog Hop. There are freebies to pick up and prizes to be won.
Thank you for stopping by. Take care.

Dancing Butterflies
This month's image for the Dragon's Lair Challenge on the Facebook Page is of a Maypole. Last Friday the school I work in held it's annual May Celebrations. The May Queen is crowned, a speech given and each class performs two dances, the second of which is around the Maypole. Finally the Year 6 boys perform the stick dance, form a guard of honour and the May Queen and her attendants leave. It's great fun and the children love doing it.
My card does not have children dancing but butterflies!
Materials used:
Dragons Lair Designs - Maypole image (request from Facebook Page)
Dragons Lair Designs - Butterfly Garden Papers
Dragons Lair Designs - Butterfly Garden Elements
Dragons Lair Designs - Butterfly Garden Page Kit (with extras)
printer card
X-Press It card
Copic Pens
acrylic flower embellishment from stash
I printed the frame at the size I wanted for my card and then used that to get the right size for the image. The sentiment printed at the bottom of the frame is from the page kit set. The Maypoleimage is printed on X-Press It card with the bottom layer of the butterflies on and coloured in with copics. The butterflies are printed out a second time at the same size, fussy cut and stuck ontop of the base images on just the bodies so that the wings stand proud.
I printed out two of the papers, one with butterflies and a plain blue one and used these to mat and layer my frame on an A5 card blank. I used the same butterfly paper printed on the envelope and on the card insert.
Thank you for visiting. Take care.

Take care.

Dragons Lair Designs May Challenge
This month the theme for the monthly Dragons Lair Designs challenge is: Women at Work. Here is my sample.
Materials used:
Dragons Lair Designs - Lost and Found Treasures
Janette Padley (Designer at Dragons Lair Designs) - Framed Sewing Theme Digi Stamp
printer card
Copic pens
printer paper
X-Press It card
clear gem
Having decided on the style and size of the card I wanted to make I printed out all the elements I needed.
The main image is coloured with Copic pens.
The accents are fussy cut print outs from the Lost and Found Treasures set.
The insert has an image from the Lost and Found Treasures set with the shape faded out for writing the greeting on.
I also made a matching envelope.
While I was making this card it occured to me that it would also make a fantastic front on a boasting book for someone who is into needlecrafts to put photographs of their creations in. I feel a future Christmas present project coming on!
I hope that you will come along and join in the fun at Dragons Lair Designs. The challenge is open for a whole month so you have plenty of time to come up with an entry.

Guest spot at Crafting By Designs
A while back I was delighted to be picked as a DT Favourite at Crafting By Designs and offered a GTD spot. So here is my sample for the new challenge - Anything Goes.
Materials used:
Squigglefly - Buried Treasure (unfortunately now out of business)
Little Llama Shoppe - Sea Shells
shells from an old necklace
seaside accents from stash
canvas board
Vintage Photo distress ink
Neenah Desert Storm card
Copic pens
Polychromo pencils
printer paper and card
15 cm square easle card base
scalloped rectangle die set
Modge Podge (mat)
Wall Art Piece
I used the Vintage Photo distress ink to ink the edges of the canvas board then tore the sides from a print out of one of the Sea Shells papers and inked the edges before sticking it to the board with Modge Podge.
The Buried Treasure image and sentiment are printed onto the Neenah Desert Storm card and the image coloured with Copics. Both elements have been torn around the edges and inked with distress ink before being stuck to the board.
The shells and the seaside accents are added last using glossy accents glue. The three shells at the top are from my collection picked up during the years on various family holidays so I have no idea where they came from but I suspect That they are Cornish!
Easle Card
The inside and front of the card are covered with one of the Sea Shells papers.
The image and sentiment are again printed out onto Neenah Desert Storm card. This time the image has been coloured with Polychromo pencils.
Both the image and the sentiment have been cut using a scalloped rectangle die.
I hope you will go and visit the Crafting By Designs blog and see all the inspiration there. Why not join in the fun - Anything Goes!
Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

New Challenge at Path of Positivity
Today sees the start of a new challenge at Path of Positivity. This time around the theme is Empathy. The Cambridge Dictionary definition of Empathy is: the ability to share someone else's feelings or experiences by imagining what it would be like to be in that person's situation. This is very different from Sympathy which is more the feeling sorry for a person's situation without necessarily identifying with it or understanding it.
One of my favourite quotes on empathy comes from the character Atticus Finch in 'To Kill a Mockingbird (in itself a very moving and thought provocing book). He says this: If you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you'll get along a lot better with all kings of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.
Life throws up lots of opportunities to show both sympathy and empathy the most obvious being bereavement and illness. I challenge you to make use of these times to show not just sympathy but empathy. Best of all is that while sympathy is for the more trying times in life, empathy can be shared for all the good things as well!
My sample for the start of the challenge is a bit predictable in that I have gone with a sympathy card, mainly because we have had rather a lot of deaths among family and friends over the past few weeks so I have been busy making some cards.
Materials used:
Sprinkle and Sparkle - Church Sympathy
X-Press It card
printing card
Copic pens
I actually have two examples to share with you, one using the pre-coloured image and one hand coloured.
In both cards elements of the image have been 3d using three copies of the image and fussy cutting bits out. The sentiment and the frame with the flower were printed onto the card base.
The layered up image on each card is placed behind an aperture hand cut from the base card printed image (I hope that makes sense to you!).
There will also be:
