Favourite Colours on the Path of Positivity

We are continuing our year long colour quest at PoP and this month is a free for all in that we get to use our favourite colours. Since starting to use Copic pens regularly as my prefered colouring medium I have found two favourite colours. This is mainly because the red and purple groups have combinations I can actually blend quite well but it does help that purple is my all time favourite colour and red comes a very close second! There is something quite striking about both colours, and purple especially holds so many different shades and hues from dark, rich regal purple to the lightest lilac.

For my card today I have stuck to the reds. Who can resist a red rose. I have combined two images from one of our sponsors for this and although I was not specifically thinking 'Beauty and the Beast' at the time it does now make me think of the film! The quote from Thomas Moore was so apt it could have been planned but I confess the image came way before I found the quote!

Oh and although I started off talking about Copics I have actually used Polychromo pencils for this one!

Materials used:Lunagirl - Pastel Mason Jars 2
Lunagirl - Flowers Line Art
5x7" card blank
red card
white printer card
Polychromo pencils
Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles die set
Memento ink pads - Ladybug and London Fog

With both Lunagirl collage sheet I had to crop down to the image I wanted then arranged them with the quote on the page.

The roses and the jar are coloured with Polychromo pencils then cut with a die. The die cut is edged with the Memento inks.

For the card base I die cut a piece of red card and attached it to the card blank. The die cut topper is then mounted on top using foam pads.

I hope you will join us this month. We are an anything goes challenge with the colour theme being optional. If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize for Most Inspirational. Please note that you will also need to let us know somewhere in your post (written in a sentence right next to the link up for our challenge is fine) exactly what your Favourite Colour(s) happen to be. Without this information, you won't be eligible to qualify for the MI prize. Additionally, though completely optional, we'd also love to find out how your Favourite Colour(s) make you feel, if you'd like to share that with us. What kinds of feelings do these colours evoke in you? You can write a sentence or two in the body of your post, write a sentence at the bottom of your post next to the link up for this challenge, or simply leave a comment on this post if you'd like.

Remember, in order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, ALL creations must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. You don't need to follow the optional theme if you simply want to have a chance at the Random Draw prize of three images from SheepSki Designs, one of our guest sponsors this month. You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win an additional sponsored prize of a $15 gift certificate from Lunagirl, the second of our guest sponsors this month, for the project chosen as Most Inspiring.

You have until 3rd June to get your entry in. If you need more information please visit the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog where you will find details of the link up as well as more inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

  3. Sorry to be so slow in enjoying this gorgeous rose card (my internet provider has been acting up a couple days). Your coloring on the roses is wonderful, they look so velvet-y, just as 'real' roses do. That is such great pencil skill to achieve that look. The jar also captures the feel of 'real' glass, and I love the way you've used that die shape for the mat. Just a lovely, lovely card. TFS & Happy Mother's Day.
