PoP Challenge: Surround yourself with literature

At the Path of Positivity last month we began a three month sequence of themes based on the arts. Last month is was art and this month it's the turn of literature.

As a child with congenital heart defects much of my childhood was spent indoors. I was not able to be very active physically so spent my time getting lost in books. I learnt to read at quite an early age and never looked back. Most of the time I read novels, classic and modern. My favourite genre is historical novels and I am especially fond of  the likes of Jane Austen, the Bronte sisers, Charles Dickens. My two all time favourites are Dicken's A Christmas Carol and Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre. When choosing an image to use for this challenge I saw this one and was reminded of both of these stories.

Materials used:

Sparkle N Sprinkle - Victorian Camille at Christmas
acrylic birthday greeting stamp
X-Press It card
green, pink, shimmer grey card
A5 card blank
white adhesive gems
pine frond cutting die
Copic pens
black archival ink pad
white Sharpie paint pen

Camille is printed on X-Press It card and coloured with Copics, the snow flakes are coloured with the white Sharpie. The greetings is stamped on a snippet of white card and trimmed. Both are matted and layered onto green and pink card.

The card blank front is covered with grey card then the topper and greeting attached.  The white gems are coloured with a red Copic pen. The die cut fronds and gems are arranged on the card front then glued down.

Although the image is a Chritmas one I wanted to make a birthday card suitable for a winter birthday and it just seemed to be ideal for that.

I hope that you will be able to join us this month. Sparkle N Sprinkle have some lovey images in their store and they have provided two $15 prizes for the challenge winners. All the details of how to enter, instructions and inspiration can be found on the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog.

Thanks for dropping by. Take care.

Pippa
