Stampers Delights at Kit and Clowder

Alyce at Kit and Clowder has been running a fantastic Advent Calendar full of freebies and competitions and today she is featuring Stampers Delights.

Materials used:
Stampers Delights - Chibi Open Gift (freebie in Kit and Clowder Advent Calendar)
designer card
gold mirri card
X-Press It card
white card
star punch
gold ribbon
red paper string
red jingle bells
cracker punch board
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
hair - E50, E42, E43, E44, Y21
eyes - B91, B95, B97, B99

socks - C0, C1, C3     B1, B3, B5

My plans for Christmas, like so many others, have been put on hold. We usually have a big family meet up with local family members on Christmas Day and the wider family over New Year. This is our traditional Christmas 2 Celebration. For Christmas Day I try to make individual personalized crackers for every person there. This year I did not get around to it and even if I had we will not be sharing them together. I used the lovely image from Stampers Delights to make just one cracker, inspiration for next year! Of course this image would work equally well for a birthday card too.

So if you are inspired why not take a look at the Kit and Clowder Facebook page where you will find other wonderful inspirational makes as well as all the details for this year's Advent Calendar. All the links are below.

This is my final DT make for Stampers Delights as I am leaving the team to attend to family matters. It is possible that I may return at some stage but it will not be for some time so I am making no promises. I may pop up with the odd progressive challenge entry and I will be keeping an eye on Stampers Delights for all the new and exciting things planned for 2021.

Meanwhile I wish you all a happy and blessed Christmas and even though we cannot celebrate as we normally would the real meaning of Christmas has not changed, the churches are still open and Jesus still invites us into relationship with him. So this year why not put Christ back into Christmas for with out him Christmas just becomes mas which is meaningless.

Christmas Rejoicing

This is my last post for A Path of Positivity Challenge for some time as a DT Member. I have really enjoyed my long association with the challenge firstly as a contestant and for the last few years as a designer. But life has got in the way and I need to take a bit of a breather from the teams I am on. I hope to pop in with the odd entry to support the challenge from time to time.

Meanwhile despite everything that is going on we will be rejoicing this Christmas as we remember the coming of Jesus into the world to save us and looking forward to the time when he returns as King of Israel and ruler of the world. What rejoicing will happen then, I believe even more so than at His first coming.

However you celebrate this year and whether you have a Christian faith, a member of another faith tradition or no faith at all I pray that the Christ of Christmas will reveal himself to you afresh and surround you with his love and that peace that passes all understanding at Christmas and into the unknown paths of the new year.

God bless.

Materials used:
PSX Nativity Silhouette rubber stamp
rectangle dies
white printer card
embossing ink pad
silver embossing powder
chalks in blues and yellow
silver star card

5" x 7" card blank

The image has been embossed onto the printed panel and coloured with chalks using a small foam makeup applicator.

I hope you will join us in this last challenge of 2020. Here are all the details and links for you:

Our optional twist is REJOICE. For many, this time of year is an occasion for happiness. While the pandemic makes this year harder to get together with those you may normally spend time with during the holiday season, there are still many reasons we have to rejoice. Thus, we want you to create a project that reflects the JOY of the holiday season.

In order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, remember that general types of  projects/posts will not qualify for the prizes unless they are also positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. Additionally, even if a project may qualify as positive, if your post promotes negativity, hatred or anything of an abhorrent nature, your project will be disqualified. Prizes this month include:
  • A $10 gift certificate from Limited Runs, our guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT

Rejoicing Along the Path of Positivity

Who could have predicted at the end of 2019 what 2020 would have in store for us. But a we reach the end of a difficult year which for many has been one of immense sadness with so many loved ones no longer with us we can look back and remember the positive times too. Many of our themes this year have encouraged us to do that. Last month, for example, we looked at the things that make us grateful. This month we finish the year off by looking at the theme of Rejoicing.

Of course Christmas is a major Christian festival celebrating the first coming of Jesus into our fallen world and looking forward to his return as king. Without Christ there would be no Christmas. This year with Covid still a huge threat many have been worried about not being able to meet up with friends and family over Christmas. However, much as I love getting together with the rest of our scattered clan, Christmas is so much more than the partying and presents. I admit I am sad at the thought that we might not be able to get together this year, especially as it is our Grandson's first Christmas and a baby is at the heart of the story, but I would rather celebrate alone than risk the health of loved ones. So our Christmas plans are on hold for a while, waiting to see what happens. Very apt as we embark on Advent, that wonderful time of anticipation and waiting.

However you celebrate this year I hope that you are able to join in with the angels and rejoice that God's plan of salvation started with that first Christmas over 2000 years ago.

Philipians 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Imagine That Progressive Challenge Relaunch

After a gap of some time Imagine That Digistamp is restarting it's monthly progressive challenge and offering the image for November for free. Now I had intended getting this done nearer the start of the month rather than at the end but life got in the way! If you are quick you could still manage to enter it.

printer card
silver mirricard

Stampers Delights November Progressive Challenge

As we are now over half way through November I am a bit late with this one but better late than never.

Materials used:
Stampers Delights: Xmas Happy Elf (available by request from the Facebook Page
5" x 7" card blank
gold mirri card
X-Press It card
gold pen
Copic pens:
skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
hat and mittens -  R29, R39, R59, R89     CO, C1, Blender
hair - E50, E53, E55, E57
clothes - YG03, YG17, YG67, G29     R35, R37, R39

Confession time, this was originally going to be a tag but I did not have enough gold mirri card in my bits box. The border around the card is deliberately squiggly, a sneaky way to hide the fact that I cannot draw straight lines freehand!

There is still time to join in with the challenge so why not pop over to the Stampers Delights Fan Page on Facebook and request the image. If you need more inspiration you can find plenty on Facebook and the Stampers Delights Inspiration Blog.

Just A Little More Gratitude With Path of Positivity

This month you get a bonus post from me! I originally ordered this image to work with for the start of our Gratitude theme at Path of Positivity but then changed my mind once I got started and opted for a rose image instead. However having been given this image I decided it is only right to use it. I had intended posting it with Monday's post but forgot. Forgetfulness seems to be more troublesome this year. I think it is partly the Covid concerns, partly events within the family and partly just because I am forgetful!

One thing I don't forget is all the things I have to be grateful for. I have already talked about the beauty of nature and the fact that we live in a rural area surrounded by countryside. I have also talked about family and friends and all they mean. So what else is there I wonder!

Life is full of surprises, random acts of kindness can be seen everywhere. Events like a global pandemic do bring out the best in people. Yes I know they also bring out the worst as well but let's stay on the right path and think positively. Our local community has really pulled all the stops out this year. We have had a fantastic mask making group who make hundreds of masks and left them in the charity shops for people to buy for a small, or large, donation. Groups of neighbours have been shopping for those unable to get out or who are shielding. Local businesses have offered delivery services. The food bank has kept going with generous donations from shops and the community despite many facing hard times. A lot of our usual events have had to be cancelled but our fantastic Christmas Lights Committe has spent the last few weeks putting up the festive lights around the town managing to keep to all the guidelines around distancing and safety. We may not have our Victorian Evening and grand switch on but there will be light to brighten up the winter evenings.

So I am grateful that our community is so caring, it makes our town a great place to live.

Materials used:
acrylic sentiment stamp
yellow card
white printer card
black card
X-Press It card
5" x 7" card blank
black inkpad
Copic pens:
petal shadowing - C0,C1, C3, Blender
centres - Y00, Y11, Y15, YG23
stems and leaves - YG61, G21, G24, G94

I made the background paper by arranging multiple copies of the image in a small size on an A4 document and printing it off. The sentiment is just stamped across the corner. The panel has been coloured, cut to size and matted on black card to form a small frame then attached to the card with foam pads.

Here are the details and links for the challenge:

Gratitude for family memories

For my middle Path of Positivity Challenge I have another scrapbook page for you. Let's be honest here during a global pandemic with all the heartache for those who have lost relatives and friends as well as all the social restrictions it is hard to keep positive. With the year drawing to it's close our thoughts naturally turn to Christmas. At the moment here in the UK we are under our second lockdown and it is anybody's guess what will happen at Christmas. It is likely that we will still be under some restrictions and large family gatherings may not be possible.

Last Christmas my side of the family were able to be together for the first time in years. With nurses, ambulance drivers, telecommunication technicians, priests and veterinary nurses among our numbers everybody's Christmas rotas have been different but by a miracle everyone was able to book time off around Christmas and New Year that overlapped by a couple of days. Being in Somerset all our northern relations came down so ours  and our eldest daughters houses were full and a couple of local holiday cottages got custom too.

So for my offering of positive thoughts I have made a scrapbook page to mark that momentous event when four generations got together! This year we can be grateful for past good memories and look forward to future good ones The Snowmen Selfie image from one of our sponsors seemed very appropriate!
