ATC's with Scribbles Designs
Time for another inspiration post for Scribbles Designs and this time I have used one of the lovely flower sets to make some ATC's.
Materials used:
Scribbles Designs - Flower Set 2
X-Press It card
pink, purple and red card snippets
Copic pens
I put the whole design together on an ATC template I made in Word then printed them out on X-Press It card. I could fit 9 ATC's on an A4 sheet.
The designs have been coloured with Copics in three colourways then trimmed a little and matted on matching coloured card cut to ATC size (2.5 x 3.5 inches). Trying to get the shading on such tiny roses was a big challenge!
ATC's are a great way of using up bits of scrap card and also of practicing designs that could then be enlarged on bigger cards. If I have inspired you, why not head over to the Scribbles Design Blog to see the latest challenge. There you will find a link to the challenge and a link to the Scribbles Designs Shop.
Thanks for visiting today. Take care.

Return of the Stamp of the Month Challenge at From The Heart Stamps
After a break the Stamp of the Month challenge has returned to From the Heart Stamps. With it being February the image this time is very suitable for Valentine's Day and is a little different from the usual images associated with the celebration. I chose to use it on a couple of ATC's.
Materials used:From the Heart Stamps - Hogs and Kisses PigwitX-Press It! card
Copic pens
snippets of white card
Pigwit has been printed out on the X-Press It! card at the correct size for an ATC. The image is coloured with Copics and the heart added free-hand.
The image has been trimmed to ATC size and stuck to a piece of scrap white card slightly smaller.
Finally a black Copic has been run around the outside edges.
This is a progressive challenge so if you enter this month you automatically get the next challenge image free. It keeps going until you miss a month. There are still a few days left to enter, so if you are interested in having a go here is some helpful information:

PoP Midway Post: Expressions of Love
We are now half way through the challenge at Path of Positivity which means there are still a couple of weeks left for you to have a go yourself!
The optional theme this time is Expressions of Love. Last time I challenged us to use every opportunity to practice expressing love, not just to those who are our nearest and dearest but to all. That is not so easy, I expect we all know people who are not as easy to get on with and we are probably all guilty of being judgemental when confronted with other people in need. However I am certain that like most things, the more practice the easier it gets. So might I suggest we try to carry on expressing love everyday, there is always at least one opportunity each day to some someone some love.
Materials used:
Imagine That Digistamp - Lighthouse
black and yellow card
white A5 card blank
lighthouse metal charm
X-Press It card
Copic pens
The image is printed on X-Press It card, coloured with Copics and then matted and layered on black and yellow card.
The topper is then attached to the card blank and the embellishment added.
I hope you will join us on the path this month. Here is all the information you need:
In order to have a chance to win the prize for the Most Inspirational Creation, be sure to explore this idea of An Expression of Love. One way you can show your love is by sharing a card with your partner, your close family members and/or your special friends. Perhaps, there is something you can make by hand to express your love. One Valentine's day my hubby and I shared a list of the things that we loved most about each other. Whatever direction your expression of love takes you, we'd love to part of that journey. If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize for Most Inspirational. We also ask that you please leave a comment letting us know how your creation relates to the concept of love if it isn't readily clear within the design itself or clearly written somewhere else in your post. While you may easily see how the concept of love relates to your creation, it may not be as apparent to me or the DT members. That is why we ask that you clarify it somewhere, whether here or in your blogpost. You can simply write a sentence at the bottom of your post next to the link up for this challenge, if it would be easier. We just need to know how your project ties into the theme. Letting us know, clears up any ambiguity that may exist.
Remember, in order to be considered eligible for this month's prizes, ALL creations must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some nature. You don't need to follow the optional theme if you simply want to have a chance at the Random Draw prize of a $10 gift certificate from Imagine That! Digistamp, one of our sponsors this month. You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of the same three digis used by team members, provided by Mari Digis.

Love to Craft Midway Reminder
We are half way through this month's Love To Craft Challenge, have you had a go yet? Remember it is always 'Anything Goes' so no need to think around a theme. My sample this time is a birthday card I made for my daughter's step-daughter who loves giraffes.
Materials used:Scrappers Delights - Needs A Hug Giraffe Digi Stamp
acrylic greeting stamp
black archival ink pad
X-Press It card
yellow and brown card
white A5 card blank
Copic pens
The giraffe is printed out on X-Press It card and coloured with Copics then trimmed, matted and layered on the coloured card and attached to the card blank.
The greeting is stamped in black at the bottom of the card.
CAS is my favourite style, fairly obvious from the past few cards. I think having taken all the effort to hand colour an image it seems a pity not to show it off by not making it too frilly. Having said that I do admire the ability to be able to embellish away and yet still keep the focus on the image, a skill I need to work on!
I hope you will be inspired to head on over to Love To Craft and take a look at the wonderful samples from my team mates and have a go yourself.
Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

A Bouquet of Flowers from Scribbles Designs
The great thing about being a GD with Scribbles Designs is being able to pick any of the wonderful images to work with. This time I have chosen one of the many floral ones to make up a spring bouquet. It could be for a birthday, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, Get Well, Sympathy, Thank You, Thinking of You . . . any occassion really. I have gone with Thinking of You.
Materials used:Scribbles Designs - Flower Set 1
acrylic greeting stamp
black archival ink pad
X-Press It! card
Copic pens
doily die
silver tissue paper
white spotty tissue paper
silver ribbon
Because all the flowers, leaves and the sentiments are in one combined image I used the crop featuree in Word to issolate the elements I needed for my bouquet. Having arranged them on my page I printed them on X-Press It card and coloured them with Copics.
I fussy cut all the elements and then made up the individual flowers with the flower head, stalk and leaves, shaping the flower heads as I went. I then made my flowers into a bunch and wrapped them in a triangle of spotty tissue paper and tied them with the silver ribbon. I added a few extra leaves where I could see a gap so that there was not too much white background showing through.
A closer view to show the flower stems and filler leaves.
I cut a doily from the silver tissue and attached it to the front of an A5 card blank then positioned and attached the bouquet on the top.
Finally I stamped the greeting on the front in black ink.
If my card has inspired you, why not head on over to the Scribbles Designs Store. They have some unusual designs and lots of freebies you can try.
Another place for inspiration is the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog. There you will also find information on the current challenge.
Thanks for dropping in. Take care and if you are in the UK, especially up north, keep warm!

Jumping back in for a cookie
It's been quite a while since I last entered the If You Give A Crafter A Cookie challenge, but with the snowman inspiration I could not resist it. We have had a really wet and windy time the last few days and I long for a bit of snow just for a change.
Materials used:From the Heart - I'd rather be skiing
snowflake backing card
green and orange card
X-Press It card
Copic pens
A5 card blank
black peel off greeting sticker
The snowman and sentiment are printed onto X-Press It card and coloured with Copics before trimming. The image is then matted and layered onto green and orange card.
The front of the card blank has been covered with a slightly smaller piece of snowflake card which has had the edges highlighted with a black pen. The matted and layered image is then attached to the card front.
Finally a small black peel off greeting has been added.
I have just got time to enter my card into the challenge before it closes tomorrow. Leaving it late again!
Thank you for dropping by. Take care.

Expressions of Love on the Path of Positivity
It's time for a new challenge at the Path of Positivity and this month the optional theme is Expressions of Love. Of course Valentine's Day is the first thought, especially as we are in February, but what about those who are alone. I sometimes feel it is hard enough being on your own without all the shops being full of Valentine paraphernalia as soon as the Christmas excess stock has been cleared off the shelves. That is why Expressions of Love is such a good theme, it encompasses every little thought, word and deed that send a message of love to someone.
The image I have to work with is one of Beethoven so a music and love quote was needed. I avoided the obvious one from Shakespeare and went for one that is lesser know, at least to me. I love the sentiment because a song on its own is not much, it's the music that gives the words their life, just as a life without love is hard and dead without love to soften it.
So I challenge us all, myself included, to show expressions of love as often as we can. That smile you give a stranger maybe the only one they get that day, that visit to a neighbour maybe the only company they get that day. Expressions of love do not need to be big and showy to make a difference to someone, the value is in the love not the size of the gift.
Materials used:Mari Digis - Beethoven
Vintage music backing paper - (free from the internet)
Distress ink - Tea Dye and applicator
A5 card blank
X-Press It card
Copic pens
Beethoven has been printed on X-Press It card, coloured with Copics and cut out with a small white border. The border is then coloured with a Copic as close to the colour of the background paper as I could get.
The sentiment has been added to the background paper before printing out, trimming and sticking onto the front of the card blank. The white edges of the card have been blended into the backing paper using the Tea Dye ink.
The coloured image has been mounted onto the card using foam pads for some depth.
I hope that you will join in with the challenge this month, remember we are now an 'Anything Goes' challenge with the optional theme which carries an extra prize.
In order to have a chance to win the prize for the Most Inspirational Creation, be sure to explore this idea of An Expression of Love. Hearts a Flutter at Dragons Lair Designs
It's the first Friday of the month so it must be time for a new challenge at Dragons Lair Designs. This month the theme is very relevant for the time of year, Hearts a Flutter. All the details you need for the challenge are at the end of this post.
Materials used: Dragons Lair Designs - Summer Sunset Couple Digi Stamp
Dragons Lair Designs - Summer Sunset Decorated Paper
Dragons Lair Designs - Summer Sunset Digital Elements
printer card
Aged Mahogany Distress Ink
black sparkly ribbon
heart gift bag template (Craft Artist 2 software)
I recently treated myself to a laptop as my old desk top is starting to fail. The disadvantage of a new computer is getting used to a new system, from Windows 7 to Windows 10 is quite a leap, and having to load up my most used software. One of the programmes I installed is CraftArtist 2. Having installed it I checked it worked properly and discovered the pre installed templates, one of which was this little heart shaped gift bag, perfect for my sample for the challenge.
I do not often make something that is completely digital but this time decided to give it a go. I have taken a couple of the papers from the paper pack and used them to cover the two sides of the bag. On the front, as in the picture above, I added the digi stamp couple in the circle on the paper. On the back, as in the the picture below, I added a leafy swirl from the elements pack. Both of the added pictures have been given a drop shadow to try and give some dimension.
Finally I printed out the bag, cut it out and assembled it, running a length of black ribbon up one side, loosely over the top and then down the other side to make a little carry handle.
I am not sure yet what will go into the bag, I have lots of idea, but I expect I will decide by February 14th!
Now, as promised, here are the details of how to join in with the Dragons Lair Designs Challenge for this month.
We are an all levels crafters' challenge blog - all winners are picked by Random to keep it fair for all levels. The prize for winning will be shown clearly on the challenge.
Winners will get a badge for their blog and the winning entry will also be highlighted on the challenge blog the following month.
Challenges are Monthly, starting the first Friday of each Month.
You may enter our challenge using any material you wish as long as you clearly follow the set theme.
You may enter only once each month and you must link up with your direct link to the blog post showing your entry, and have a back link to the challenge blog showing on the blog post with your entry.
