The festivities continue

It is the midway point of our Festivities challenge at Path of Positivity. I hope you manage to find time to come and join us. The challenge is open for another two weeks.

DSC_0186(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:Bugaboo Digi Stamps - Ava and Deacon Merry Christmas
X-Press It card
Silver mirri card
backing paper from stash (I think I used Distress Oxides to make it)
Copic pens
A5 card blank
snowflake stickers
white paint pen
glitter glue

The coloured image is matted onto silver mirri card. The home-made backing paper is used to cover the card blank.

The snowflake stickers are covering the snowflakes on the design.
With Christmas just around the corner this is the ideal theme to show off your Christmas makes as they would certainly fit the optional theme. As an extra incentive there are prizes from our wonderful sponsors up for grabs too!

A $12 gift certificate from Bugaboo Stamps for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch.

A $20 gift certificate from NS Designs for a person chosen in a random draw based on all entrants.

Thanks for popping in. Take care.

Scribbles Designs welcomes you to the North Pole

I am cheating a bit here because I freely confess I completely forgot that today is the start of the new challenge at Scribbles Designs. This time we are off to the North Pole. Because of my memory lapse I have used an ATC I made with the practice image from the Santa's Coming to Town day of the Carol challenge.

SAM_5043(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:Scribbles Designs -  Santa's Coming
designer background paper
X-Press It card
black card
Copic pens
gel glue

Santa has been coloured then fussy cut. The ATC base is made from a snippet of black card with a mat of designer paper also from the snippets box. The image is slightly embossed and attached with gel glue to give a bit of dimension.

I do hope you will be able to join in with our challenge this month. Since The North Pole is such a special place for the Brrr family, they would really like your creations for this challenge to include an element that might be found in the North Pole (fantasy version of course). Examples include: elf type images, Santa, Mrs Claus, presents, toys, images that have a sign for the North Pole in them, penguins of course, reindeer, polar bears, etc.

The Brrr Family will actually be adding their votes to the Top Picks for this challenge so you'll definitely want to do them proud!

Also while I am here just a reminder that there is still time to enter our Christmas Carol Challenge. There is a different task each day relating to carols (card making optional for one task). Hopefully if you click on the badge it should take you to the final day of the challenge where you can find links to all the other days.

The closing date for entries is not 5th December but the 5th of January so you still have time to play along.

Next year Scribbles Designs is 5 years old and we have a DT call for some additional team members. If you are interested or want to find out  more about it then click here and it will take you to the post with all the details.

Thanks for swinging by. Take care.

I can't hang around to chat today as I need to get this done and pack ready to leave the country!

Jolly Holly Challenge

The theme for  Mari Ko Creations challenge this time is Jolly Holly which allows for anything Christmas related. I have used the optional challenge image for this one.

DSC_0185(watermarked).JPG
Materials used:

Mari Ko Creations - Holiday Petals Unicorn
greetings light string acrylic stamp from stash
black archival ink
gel pens
Copic pens
white paint stick
snowflake stickers
First Editon Silent Night paper pad
X-Press It card
A5 card blank

The front of the card is covered with a piece of paper from the Silent Night pad so that the glittered tree is in the right place. The string of lights is stamped straight onto the card front and coloured with gel pens.

Holiday Petals is printed on X-Press It card, coloured with Copics and fussy cut then attached to the card with foam pads.

Finally the stickers are added to the light string.
I decided to make my unicorn brightly coloured against the muted background paper. The string of lights was an afterthought having found them in my stash when looking for a suitable greeting stamp. They mirror the lights around Petal's horn.

A Bit More Chaos

Another day another challenge in the Bugaboo Holiday Chaos week. Today would be our usual focus on some of the older images but this time we have added a colour twist.

DSC_0043(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:
Bugaboo Stamps - Tree Bench
Bugaboo Stamps - Ava Christmas Sitter
Bugaboo Stamps - Deacon Elf Sitter
First Edition Christmas Wishes 6x6 paper pad
X-Press It card
white fun flock
silver liquid pearls
iridescent glitter
Copic pens
square card blank folded to make a twisted easel card

The three images are arranged to make up the scene then printed out and coloured with Copics. The fur on the children's hats is covered with fun flock, glitter is added to the snow to make it look frosted and silver liquid pearls used on the star.

This project had two challenges for me! Once all the images where combined there were a couple of places where it was difficult to tell which image went where! Also the specific colour palette was tricky.

I hope you have been enjoying the week of Christmas Chaos and have found some time to join in. For details of how to enter and the prizes on offer click the badge at the top of the page and it should take you to the blog where you will find all the information you need.

Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

Made it to the end!

Today is the last day of the Scribbles Designs Carol Celebration and I am pleased to say that my sample for today went so much better! I am back on familiar ground with the Copics out and inky fingers.

DSC_0041(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:Scribbles Designs - 3 B Trio
designer paper from stash
X-Press It card
Copic pens
A5 card blank

The greeting on the card is typed on the computer and printed on card. The backing paper has a very faint musical score design printed on it which ties in with the singing penguins.

For details of how to enter the challenges and what prizes are on offer click on the badge at the top of this post and you should go to the blog.

Thank you for visiting. Take care.

A Day of Disasters

Ok so today for day 4 of the Scribbles Designs Christmas Carol Celebration the image is a sentiment. I had a few ideas, eventually, on what to do but they all failed, miserably! So my sample was very much a twelth hour affair after a lot of hair being pulled out!

DSC_0039(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:
Scribbles Designs - 0153 Let It Snow
First Edition - Silent Night 12x12 paper pad
Bearly Mine - Winter Swirls 18 (no longer trading)
printer card
silver mirri card
white snowflake sticker
A5 white card blank

The Let it Snow stamp is printed out with the Bearly Mine paper behind it then trimmed and matted onto silver mirri card. A snowflake sticker has been added to the top left-hand corner.

For the background image I have just taken a scene from one of the sheets of card in the Silent Night collection. The glitter frosting in the bottom right corner is part of the paper design. It is a very subtle card!

I really did think I would never get this one done! I hope you are joining in with the Scribbles Designs Christmas Carol Challenge. To get to the blog for all the details of how to enter and the prizes just click on the badge at the top of this post.

Let the Festivities Begin!

Today is the start of a new challenge at Path of Positivity and the theme for this month is 'Festivity'. So this is a good one for showing off any Christmas makes you have been busy with!

DSC_0001(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:
Kitten Scraps - Winter's Playground
A4 printer card
A3 printer paper

I have kept it simple for this one, using a character image from the set to make the wrapping paper design and then using the same design for the little gift box. The tag shows the character as it comes.

This is a fantastic set from Kitten Scraps and as I now have a new phone with a better camera on it I plan to take more pictures over the Christmas period and make up some scrapbook pages. So look out for more from the set in the new year!

I hope you will come and join in with the challenge at Path of Positivity. All the details can be found on the blog. As an incentive here are the prizes up for grabs.

SPONSOR & PRIZE INFORMATION:

  • A $12 gift certificate from Bugaboo Stamps, one of our guest sponsors this month, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch.

  • A $20 gift certificate from NS Designs, the second of our guest sponsors this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all entrants.

  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

Christmas Tree Bling

Today is the third day of the Scribbles Designs Christmas Carol Celebration. I hope you have been playing along with the challenges. Today I have some festive trees to share with you, all blinged up in their finery.

DSC_0015(watermarked)

Materials used:Scribbles Designs - Festive Trees
Dovecraft paper pack - Twelve Days of Christmas
X-Press It card
Copic pens
A5 white card blank
gems
sparkle gel pens

The words have been printed onto a piece of the designer paper then used to cover the front of the card blank having first been trimmed to be slightly smaller. The green edge is made with a Copic pen.

The trees have been coloured with Copics. I have used three images and layered up the trees to different depths. The photo is taken on a slight angle to show the layers which is why it looks out of alignment.

Each of the three trees has been 'blinged up' differently. The far left is a mix of different colours of gems. The middle tree is red, purple and white pearl with little red and purple stars hanging off the bottom and the far right tree is coloured with the sparkle gel pens. All the top stars are coloured with a silver pen.

This was a fun card to make although the part that took the longest was sticking on all those gems, the small ones were really fiddly and kept pinging out of the tweezers!

To see the challenge for today on the Scribble Designs Challenge Blog click on the badge at the top and hopefully it should take you there.

Christmas Bells

Today is the second day of the Christmas Carol Celebration at Scribbles Designs and this time it is all about the bells. Casting Crowns, among others, arranged a poem of Longfellow's as a Christmas song. I have used the original poem on my card.

SAM_5046(watermarked).JPG
Materials used:Scribbles Designs - Bells
designer paper from stash
printer card
X-Press It card
Copic pens

I was really fortunate to find some backing paper that worked with my image because I never plan for the finished card! I confess the colouring in is what I enjoy the most which is probably why my cards are CAS and tend to be similar in design!

It would be lovely to see you at the challenge. All the information you need can be found on the blog, if I have got the technical 'stuff' right then clicking the badge below should take you there.

Holiday Chaos at Bugaboo

It's holiday chaos time at Bugaboo and to start the ball rolling the theme is Merry and Bright.

Bearly Mine - Christmas Memories Digi Paper (out of business)
X-Press It card
Copic pens
purple ribbon
flat-backed pearlised gems
Ice Crystal pearlised paper

As always the image is printed on X-Press It card and coloured with Copic pens. The backing paper from Bearly Mine is printed on the Ice Crystal paper which gives it a bit of shimmer, not really visible in the photo.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

It's the first day of the Scribbles Designs Christmas Celebration with challenges every day for the next five days. These are a little different as they do not involve making cards! Today's challenge is: Santa Claus is known by many different names around the world. Send us an email letting us know how Santa is referred to in FIVE different countries? Along with the different name for Santa, also be sure to let us know the country you've chosen. Examples, could be France, China, Finland, Great Britain, Russia, etc.

Materials used:Scribbles Designs - Santa's Coming
acrylic greeting stamp from stash
First Edition Christmas Wishes paper pad
black archival ink pad

Santa is coloured in and then fussy cut. I used two of the designer papers to make a mat and layer then attached the image with foam pads to give a little dimension. The sentiment is stamped along the bottom of the card with black ink.

I hope you will join us at Scribbles Designs for the fun and there are prizes on offer. As always all details can be found on the Scribbles Designs Blog.

A Tree-mendous Time of Year Part 2

It's the midway point in the current Scribbles Designs challenge. For my card this time I have had a play with my new Distress Oxides combining digital stamps and acrylic stamps in one image.

SAM_5032(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:
Scribbles Designs - Fall Tree
acrylic leaf stamp
little bird acrylic stamp
various Distress Oxide ink pads in Autumn colours
Mememto Tuxedo Black ink pad
designer paper from stash
Copic pens
blending cardstock (not X-Press It)
DL card blank
designer card from stash

The Fall Tree image is printed on card and coloured with Copic pens. The leaves are stamped on it using various Distress Oxide inks. I used a damp paint brush to add some colour to the leaves, spreading it from the stamped images while still wet. Finally the little robin is stamped with black ink and coloured with Copics.

The front of the card blank has been covered in designer card from my stash, I think it may be Papermania but not certain.

I have not had much of a play with the distress oxide ink pads yet so this was a first experiment at using them to stamp. The colours are much more vibrant and do not muddy so much as the traditional Distress inks.

There are still two more weeks to go for this challenge at Scribbles Designs. All we need to see is at least one tree on your makes and although most peoples thoughts are turning to Christmas trees at this time of the year both my samples show that you do not have to stick to Christmas, any tree will do!! If you need a Scribbles Design digi stamp then Sandy  has provided a freebie you can use, check out the link above. There are also plenty of images in the Scribbles Designs store as well.

Cupcake Cutie

Another month starts today and so does the challenge at Love To Craft. It is always so busy this time of year with Christmas and a lot of design teams are doing extra challenges in the lead up to the big day. I hope that you will have time to join in our challenge for this month. I expect there will be a lot of Christmas cards around in the entries so I am doing a birthday one!

SAM_4913(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:
La-La Land Stamps - Heart Cupcake Marci (link is for rubber stamp, digital only available as a limited offer from Kit and Clowder)
acrylic greeting stamp
black archival ink pad
Copic pens
pink and green card
X-Press It card
adhesive gems

This is another free image from the Kit and Clowder party celebrations. As far as I can see from the La-La Land Stamps website she is only available in the rubber version. If you are looking to improve your colouring skills then the Kit and Clowder site has a great range of classes and a free 101 class, it's well worth a look. Also the Kit and Clowder Facebook page has lots of giveaways, competitions and a very encouraging membership.

So hope to see you at the Love to Craft challenge. Remember we are an all crafts anything goes challenge so if you have been making anything for Christmas be it cards, presents, decorations etc they would be eligible to enter. So come on have a go, you may even pick up a prize for your efforts.

With A Grateful Prayer And A Thankful Heart

I have shared before that Charles Dickens' book 'A Christmas Carol' is one of my favourites. Over the years I have watched numerous film version, some better than others. Strange as it seems I  just love the Muppets version. It does stick fairly closely to the book and much of the dialogue is directly lifted from Dickens. The line 'With a grateful prayer and a thankful heart' comes from the final song in the film when the reformed Scrooge is handing out gifts. I just thought it went well with the image for the second challenge at Mari Ko Creations.

The flowers in the image have been printed out three times and decoupaged onto the main image for some depth.

This card is made up from bits in my snippet box which is somewhat overflowing at the moment!

Scrapper's Delights have come up with a cute image for  their progressive challenge this month.

SAM_5031(watermarked).JPG
Materials used:Scrapper's Delights - Deer 6
Sparkle 'n' Sprinkle- Tree Scene
designer paper from stash

The Deer 6 and the Tree Scene stamps have been arranged together before printing out on X-Press It card and coloured with Copics.

The front of the card blank has a slightly smaller piece of the designer paper attached which has been edged with a black pen as has the trimmed image.

I have deliberately not added a sentiment at this point so that I can decide later if I need it for a birthday card, a Christmas card or just a general card. I may even go back in and add some glitter to the snow to look like frost!

Surround Yourself With Music

We are now half way through the current Path of Positivity Challenge with the optional theme of music. Last time I told you about my dancing daughters, this time I am focusing on a time of year I love and the music associated with it.

I love winter, it is my favourite season, especially if it is crisp and sunny but even more so if it snows. Of course the favourite part of winter is Christmas, the trees, decorations, lights and fun of family gatherings. I enjoy all of that but even more I absolutely love the church services and singing Advent and Christmas carols. I prefer celebrating the real meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus. If you take Christ out of Christmas, as the world seems so intent on doing, it just leaves 'mas' which is a meaningless non word. My hope is that those people who only come to church or even think about God at Christmas might join in with the lovely carols and really take to heart the lyrics and be led to continue to celebrate God's wonderful gift of Jesus all year round.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Materials used:
Limited Runs - Christmas Door Set

Limited Runs - Christmas Carolers

Craft Creations - A4 Creative Card Red/Green Christmas Carols Cream

X-Press It card
Copic pens
A5 white card blank

The two Limited Runs images were printed seperately and the Christmas Carolers coloured then fussy cut. I have  used silicone glue to attach them to the Christmas Door image which has given it a bit of dimension.

I hope you will come and join us at Path of Positivity, remember we are now anything goes with the optional theme of music but it would be lovely to hear about your musical inspirations, likes or even dislikes. We have two wonderful sponsors for this challenge, both offering great prizes. Limited Runs are offering a $10 gift certificate for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring, this has to follow the theme. While Imagine That Digistamp is also offering a $10 gift certificate this time for the random draw winner from all the entries. All details of how to enter and how to qualify for the different prizes can be found at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog.

Thank you for popping in. Take care.

New Kid On The Block

Last month a new digi stamp company started, Mari Ko Creations Digital Stamps and to celebrate the launch she offered Mama Fox and Baby as a freebie if you joined her Facebook group or reduced in the store. She also has two challenges going, one on her blog and the other on Facebook. I will put in the links at the bottom of this post.

SAM_4977(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:
Mari Ko Creations - Mama Fox and Baby
DDDoodles - Fall Into Fall Leaves Patterned Paper
A Bit More Time To Craft - Leaves  (I could not find a link for purchasing so you may have to message Lozzy)
A5 white card blank
Make 'It' Colour Blending Card
printer card
buttons
scalloped edge oval die
Copic pens
Distress Ink - stormy sky and mowed lawn

The image is coloured with Copics but the grass and sky are distress ink added while the image was still inside the die so leave the white edge. I have also embossed it.

I hope you will visit Mari Ko Creations and take a look at her other images, new ones are being added regularly as she gets established. I promised to put in the links so here they are:

A Tree-mendous Time of Year!

I'm not going to mention that word just yet but it is getting closer so a lot of the challenges are working their themes around it, not least of all Scribbles Designs. Their challenge starts today and the theme is 'A Tree-mendous Time of Year!' The remit of the challenge is that you can use any design as long as there is a tree in it somewhere. I have made a general card!

SAM_4968(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:Scribbles Designs - #904 Tree Truck
Polkadoodles - Rose Budd Collection
printer paper
X-Press It card
Copic pens
A5 white card blank

The backing paper has been taken from the Polkadoodles Rose Budd CD and printed on ordianary printer paper. The same image has been used as the background for the truck but printed out together as one image on X-Press It card. The truck is coloured with Copics.

The new challenge runs until 14th December so you have plenty of time to join us. The rules and details of prizes can be found on the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.

Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

Bugaboo Meets Kit and Clowder Freebie

Kit and Clowder have come together with Bugaboo Digi Stamps to offer a free image for it's members.  For those that do not know, Kit and Clowder offer online colouring classes in a variety of mediums all headed up by the lovely and very talented Alyce Keegan. The Kit and Clowder Facebook Page is a great place to share not just crafting but anything. It is a safe environment with a very positive and encouraging membership.

I have used the image to make a complete gift set, gift bag, tag and matching card.

Materials used:
Bugaboo Digi Stamps - Snowmen Block  or free from the Kit and Clowder Facebook Group
designer paper from Silent Night pack by First Edition
X-Cut Gift Bag die
X-Press It card
Copic pens
15 cm square white card blank
cotton wool
white mini pompoms
white narrow ribbon

I used sheets of card from the Silent Night pad to cut the gift bag and bow using the dies and to cut mats for the greeting card image and the gift tag image.

The white ribbon has been coloured grey with a Copic pen.

The white pompoms and cotton wool have been used on the red hat of the snowman on the gift bag and the greeting card.

All images printed on X-Press It card and coloured with Copics.

I hope you will take the opportunity to visit Kit and Clowder and Bugaboo Digi Stamps and don't forget to pick up the freebie image while you can.

Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

Path of Positivity #53 - Surround Yourself With Music

A new challenge starts today at Path of Positivity and this month the theme is Music. I have two daughters who love to dance, the eldest has fairly recently resumed lessons in tap and has just started Irish dance lessons as well. She has also taken a couple of grades and done very well. The youngest dances for fun and exercise, usually at home. When they were little they both went to ballet lessons but neither have kept this going. Our house was always full of dance music of all sorts especially when they had exams or shows coming up. Now they both fill the house with music when they visit, Becky to show off her latest routine and Rachel exercising. So when it came to picking an image from Imagine That Digistamp, one of our sponsors this month, I could not resist this little tap dancer.

I should point out that Becky, our tapping queen is also a veterinarian nurse, hence the quote!

SAM_4942(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:Imagine That Digistamp - Tap Dancer
acrylic music stamp
black archival ink pad
gold embossed paper
A4 printer card
X-Press It card
Copic pens

I have tried to colour in the image as if the dancer is in the spotlight. The mat is an embossed gold paper.

The quote is printed on the A4 card which has then been folded to make an A5 card blank. The music is stamped on using black ink than the matted topper added.

In a couple of weeks time Becky is taking part in a Tapathon on Sunday 19th November, a national event to attempt to break the record for the most people doing the same tap routine at the same time and to raise money for Children in Need. There are places hosting it up and down the country, her dance school is one of them. However we will all be away at a wedding celebration that day so she has booked in at a venue near to where the celebration is so she can still take part. That's dedication!

If you are interested to see this is this year's routine click Here.

So why not be inspired by the music you enjoy, make a project and share it with us at Path of Positivity, we would love to see your creations. Or you can just enter as an Anything Goes and leave out the optional theme.

SPONSOR & PRIZE INFORMATION:

  • A $10 gift certificate from Limited Runs, one of our guest sponsors this month, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch.

  • A $10 gift certificate from Imagine That Digistamp, the second of our guest sponsors this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all entrants.

  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight. For details of how to enter check out the Path of Positivity Blog.

Anything Goes at Bugaboo

It's the Anything Goes Challenge at Catch the Bug this week.

SAM_4916(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:Bugaboo Digi Stamp - Friend Blocks Duo
X-Press It card
red and pink card
12.5cm white square card blank
white adhesive gems
Copic pens

I love this image from Bugaboo it can be used for so many different occassions with or without the accompanying sentiment. The image makes a great ATC card on its own.

The gems in the corner have been coloured with the same dark red used on the ladybird. I don't bother buying coloured gems anymore especially as the colours are never exactly right for the card, this way I can be certain the red will go.

It would be great to see you at Catch the Bug.

The rules are simple: Create a project and post a link to it on Bugaboo Stamps  challenge blog, Catch the Bug,  by  11/11/17  at  6:00 AM EST to be entered a random drawing for three digi prize packs –ten ( 10) (using Bugaboo only) seven (7) or four (4), using any image!

New projects only no backlinking please!  Limit 3 projects per follower!

You may use any image on your project to win the Seven or Four-image prizes, but if you have Bugaboo images, we would LOVE to see them! :)

Thanks for dropping by. Take care.

Scribbles Designs Midway Inspiration

We are half way through the photo inspiration challenge at Scribbles Designs. So far there aren't many entries so more opportunity for winning a prize. So come on and give it a shot. Remember you do not have to use a Scribbles Designs image to enter and you can take any element of the photo as your inspiration. All the rules and details of prizes are on the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.

This is the photo to inspire you.

I chose again to go with the sunflowers, they are such cheerful flowers to have around at this time of the year.

SAM_4932(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:
Scribbles Designs - #603 Sunflowers 3
X-Press It card
Copic pens

The image and quote from Helen Keller are arranged on the card and printed off together.

I do hope that you will join us at Scribbles Designs, it would be lovely to see you there and you may even win a prize.

Our rules are pretty simple...

  • We have a challenge once a month beginning at 7am PST on the 15th of each month.

  • You do not need to use a Scribbles Designs image; however, if you do, you can enter as many cards/projects as you like!

  • If you use a Scribbles Designs image, please add SD after your name-- example: Sandy SD--and your name will be entered twice into the drawing for the prize.

  • If you choose to enter the challenge using another artist's image you are limited to three entries. If you submit more than three, the additional entries will not be counted in our winner's draw.

  • You must follow the current monthly theme.

  • You are welcome to combine your entry with other challenges.

  • New projects/cards only - no back linking.

  • Please link your project post to the challenge blog, not your entire blog link. This way the Design Team members don't have to try and find which project you are entering into our challenge.

  • Please include a link back to this blog in your entry post.

  • The challenge ends at 9pm PST on the 14th of each month.

  • Winners of the previous month's challenge will be announced & will be posted on the 20th of each month.

  • Prizes awarded on the 20th of the month will be:

    • $10 value of digital images for the Top Scribbler.

    • $3 value of digital image for each of theTop 3, chosen by the Scribbles Designs Design Team.

    • Please note that SDD digital papers cannotbe chosen as prizes at this time.

    • If the challenge is sponsored, a separate draw will be held. The winner of the sponsored portion will receive the prize graciously donated by the sponsor.

Thank you for scribbling along!!!

Don't forget Scribbles Designs is having a DT call so if you are interested in joining the team you can find the details here.

Thanks for dropping in. Take care.

Getting Ready for the Winter

It's that time of year again, the temperature drops along with the leaves of the trees and the Christmas lights start appearing in the streets and the shops. So naturally thoughts turn to getting prepared for the winter. The chimney was swept on Monday, the log basket filled and some twigs ready for kindling.

You may remember that month's ago I shared with you the log basket I had crocheted. Well it is now lined and finished off along with a matching little version for the kindling. The actual crocheting was completed months ago but the lining has only just been accomplished, sewing is not my forte!

Anyway I did say I would show you all the finished items and it just so happens that it coincides with the start of this month's challenge at Love to Craft.

SAM_4937(watermarked).JPG

Materials used:
chunky wool
iron on heavy fabric stiffener
lining fabric
crochet hooks
pattern (came from a series I collected some years ago)
paper and pencil to work out all the adaptations (the log basket is larger than the original and the kindling basket is smaller!)

I was surprised at how many logs I was able to fit into the basket, should be plenty to keep the fire going all evening without having to visit the log store in the cold!

The new challenge at Love To Craft is, as always, Anything Goes and means anything so whatever your particular craft is this is the challenge for you.

HOW TO PLAY

Our challenges are monthly - they go live at 6:00 AM EST on the first day of every month and run until 6:00 PM on the last day of the month - and are always Anything Goes!

Winners and Top Picks are chosen by our Design Team and announced on the 5th of the month following the close of each challenge. We do not solicit sponsorship so there are no prizes. We play for *FUN* and for 'Winner' and 'Top Pick' badges. There may occasionally be a goody bag of craft supplies thrown in by the blog owner or some blog candy scattered for a lucky winner!

You may enter up to five (different) projects in our challenges and you may combine our challenges with as many others as you wish.

Link just your project - not your entire blog - to our challenge via the Linky Tool at the end of the challenge post. List our challenge in your blog post and link back to us.

We allow back-linking of projects that are no more than six months old. Absolutely no digitally-created projects - we want to see tangible handmade creations.

It would be lovely to see your creativity in our challenge so please do share with us.

Thank you for visiting. Take care.
